rear brake/master cylinder bleeding

Ok heres the deal. brakes blew out. found it leaking through the rear brake switch. got a new one replaced it. now i cant get preassure in the system even after going through bleeding. anyone done this and have tips

Saw a post on here where it was suggested to take the caliper off of the bike (with the brake line still connected) and placing a thin piece of plywood or something where the disk would be and bleeding it holding it up with the bleeder oriented up so the air will migrate up to it.
