Is there a way to adjust the sensor for the brake pedal?

The pedal is adjusted to a comfortable position and the braking response feels good, but I have to push pretty hard to get the light to come on.

It looks like the sensor is built into the master cylinder, I'm used to there being a separate sensor I can adjust.

It is a banjo fitting and it works on pressure. If you have to push to hard to get it to work it might be on it's way out. You might want to think of replacing it they are cheap enough $10.00 at H-D. Yes it screws into master cylinder. You might want to buy 2 just to have a spare, just my 2cents though.

I have read posts where buellers have taken the sensor off, cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol or electrical contact cleaner and a few cotton swabs, and gotten it to function properly again.
Since yours still functions I would give this a shot. Won't cost you anything but a little time.
When mine went out it wouldn't function AT ALL.
Got a replacement from ASB for about $20.
ASB no longer exists so try any of the recommend online HD sites: new castle HD or surdyke HD.

Good luck

Almost forgot to mention;
You should not need to bleed the brakes while doing this as long as you leave the foot pedal alone and keep the cap on the master cylinder.
Protect your swing arm and rear sets from possible brake fluid drips. That stuff will wreck paint in a heart beat!

Thanks for the replies. I might not be able to get to this right away but I'll be sure to update.
I'll definitely try cleaning it first.
