First off 08 1125r so can anyone lock up there rear tire? This is my first bike i can't do it on. I put new pads on and its way better before it was easier to Flintstone it to a stop than use the rear break.

Could this cause a problem being that close?

The weak rear brake is just the nature of the beast. In fact, mine was staying engaged while riding, so I disconnected it completely. Not suggesting you do the same, just telling you what I did.

I use mine to bring the front end down every now and again so that's not a option but i would like to lock the rear up and slide it a round a bit any options to do this?

yes, that could be a problem. I quote from the buell workshop manual:

"Threaded rod should not be adjusted to the point of contacting brake pedal. Improper adjustment could result in death or serious injury."
