I am new to owning a buell, recently bought a 2007 ulysses xb12xt.
I am looking to lower it a few inches, will the shock off a XB12S fit the xb12xt?

Any other info on lowering the bike would be helpful.

Thanks

I don't want to say much because I'm not 100% on how interchangeable the xb shocks are but I know people put the scg shocks on s's often because they are even lower but I have a S rear shock for sale if you want it.

Not 100% sure either but I would think an Ss shock would be a better bet as they share the same frame (& swing-arm?[confused]) Maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in?

The XBScg rear shock also fits on the XB12R - I bought a new one and put it on mine to lower it and am very happy with it.
As the above, I have no expertise as to your specific question, and hopefully the more knowledgable on here, who have always helped me so much, will chime in for you. Of course my stock R rear shock is available if you need it.

Are you that unconcerned about screwing with one of the most important suspension components in what is arguably the best handling motorcycle brand in the Universe? I would NEVER reduce rear suspension travel on my Uly and spoil that ride. You want that lowrider look, buy an old Sportster and chop that.

Thanks for the help.
Steve92106, I don't recall asking for anyone's opinion on what I should do with my bike. If you have nothing helpful to say keep your arrogant opinion to yourself. Go out for a ride on your perfect stock machine instead of trolling forums judging what other people are doing.

You can not use a xbr/s rear blue or scg yellow shock the oil outlet for the resivior is in a different spot and will hit the frame, also the standard xb's shock it's self is longer then the "Ss" and Ully

But in a nut shell your best bet is to find a "Ss" set up forks and black spring it will lower your bike about 1 1/2 inches maybe a little more.
I do believe that I have a "Ss" rear shock but I would pick up the forks and kickstand before you put it on.
