Hey there folks, back with another question. I just installed the Jardine muffler on my XB12R and noticed the exhaust gas glances the rear tire on the left side. Since the outlet is relatively close to the tire I am concerned with the pipe putting too much heat on the rubber. I was absolutely sure to follow the install instructions and was wondering if anyone had the same concern. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't worry to much about the heat. As long as it isn't blowing right on the tire. I would think the biggest concern would be any type of oil burning and coating the tire losing it's grip in cornering.

But do remember the stock exhaust is close to the tire also so depending on your clearance issues it may actually be the same as stock.

I have not noticed a issue with mine. I will barrow our IR temp gun from work and get a temp reading.

Thanks folks! After looking at the clearance of the stock pipe compared to the Jardine to the rear tire, the stock pipe was a hell of alot closer. Any of you Buell fans in the central Fl. area? I'm in Leesburg and have not seen but one or two here. Crewdog

I've had mine for about 8000 miles and haven't had any issues with the rear tire.

Did have to repack it though.

Let me know when you get here, I have a bunch of friends that ride and we go all the time.
