[smirk]Took the bike out after hibernation got the the gas station and under the seat around the rear head oil smoke was rising. Im assuming its from the rear valve cover dripping on the header. Am I right to assume the location? I thought I rear this is a common thing.. Can the gasket be replaced without rotating the motor possibly by under the seat or thru the rear shock area? I was about to put tires on it yesterday and sell it, anytime I try selling one of my toys they sabatoge me to stay with me...

I'm pretty sure the engine must be rotated to install new rocker box gaskets - front and rear. Mine is starting to leak a bit but I'm gonna ride it out as long as I can. If it screws up my fan - oh well, there are plenty of them on flea bay and elsewhere

I followed wiznut's DIY and it went smooth. 1st time rotation took a few hours, the next time it'll probably take me under an hour.

I followed wiznut's diy also and like Joel and it took a few hours also, this was also with a few interruptions but next time will be faster and if you get stuck on something ask a question from anyone on here.

I'm new here. I have a XB12X 2007. Same oil smoke situation on the rear cylinder.

When you say you followed "wiznut'S DIY", where is that? How can I get to it... I want to look at that...

Thanks

EDIT: forget about it, I found it. Thanks anyways... :D
