Recall on 1125s, Charging systems.

I found a dealer to honor a warranty transfer and now the bike has a recall with the charging system and remapping. My ? is, my bike has race ecm, so does that fix the charging problem? Just like everyone said Harley is really not a big help. They couldn't tell me if i needed it or not. Now, here's the best part, they told me to go to badweather bikers to find out..hahahahahhahah!! They're the ****** dealer, shouldn't they know what the hell the bike needs!!!!! So far I haven't had any problems with charging. So, looking to you guys for help. Thanks

I'm thinking there is no recall on the charging system. It is just covered under waranty if it goes out.

It is not a recall. There is an upgraded charging system harness. Race ECM would not have anything to do with that. The dealer should be able to run the VIN to see if the upgrade has been performed.

I have the information from Harley.(Buell 1125 charging system upgrade product program 0507)Its 9 pages step by step.After they up grade charger they have codes for remapping.Thats my dilemma.

If you have the EBR ECM, I would not let them reflash it.

It has not been done,There not sure how to do it with race ecm and dont thing warranty will cover it.

Is your ecu an EBR?

You can have them put the harness upgrage in if you want it, the EBR ecu already has the programing for the new harness. Make sure they do NOT flash your EBR ecu because it will likely change it back to the stock programing

Part of the upgrade is updating the ecu so make sure you tell them not to program it several times... maybe even wrap a note around the plug so if they try to plug it in the tech will see it.

Ok my bike has all the plastic off it for a valve adjust but to the left of it is the battery .
1"x1" square box to fat yellow wires one gray and small black.
If it has this the the recall has been completed...
Will it fix the eltrical system not likely... whatch for my up coming post on how to fix the 1125r charging system DIY

Why don't you put the standard ECM back in and then take the bike in for the upgrade so they can change the harness and flash the standard ECM.
So in the future if you decide to put the standard muffler and standard ECM back on it's all upgraded.

is your 1125r a 2008,2009 or 2010?
09 and 10 needed the recall.

09 cr and i dont have the old ecm i thought of that all ready.

RT Performance you think if they do the work without any re-flashing problem wont be fixed?If i dont get it done will i notice problems will battery?
