I am reading over the manual, and it says to put Red 271 loctite on caliper fasteners. I was under impression you need a blow torch to loosen bolts that have it. What is everyone's experience with this?

Thank You.

Possibly... I've broken stuff w/ red on it by hand before, more often then not.

If you apply the loc-tite correctly, you should only need a bit more torque to remove it.

You don't really need to superglue the bolt into the bike, you just need to make sure that vibration won't back it out.

Did you have to take off your forks or something?

Hmm, I think I am going to use blue, and just keep an eye on the bolts. It's not like I am going to take it to track.

@levi Going to be changing brake pads.

I have only used anti-seize and that has worked well. I suppose blue lock-tite would be fine, but I would be hesitant to use red. As long as you torque them correctly you will be fine.

Ended up using blue, couple drops per bolt and torquing to spec. It didn't look like previous owner/shop used loctite on those bolts anyway.

Learned from my experience on other bike, and cleaned pistons before pushing them back.
