I'm interested in the Red Shift 585v2 cams and would like to know if anyone has had any experience with them. Are there any required mods for installing these cams into a 2009 Buell xb12scg with 1203 thunderstorm engine or, are they a direct bolt-in with no necessary mods? Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure to install valve springs to match the lift of your cams. Zipper will not ship the cams to CA. They won't even bill a CA resident and ship to another state close by. Hope you have a way around that.

Thanks for the response BSD

Hammer performance recommended the Striker Performance .600 lift spring kit & 7mm Stem Performance Valves. Fortunately I have family in Texas so having the cams shipped to CA shouldn't be an issue.

As for the cam box you say it's quite possible that it'll need some clearance work done to fit the cams correct???

Correct and if I remember right I needed different lenght push rods too. Hammer are the ones who did my head work and I used their big bore kit too. Call Dan he will walk you thru it.

Which big bore kit do you have? The 1450 big bore?

Not on this XB build. Used their big fin 1250 kit. I am in the early stages of a 88/90 CI build for one of my X1 bikes. AKA gathering parts... it will be at least next year before the start of the tear down. Got a set of new style heads so far. A long ways to go on that project.
