Hi Team
Just had a very interesting conversation about putting bigger injectors in the 1125R. The story goes more fuel more bang = Horsepower.

Do any of you have any theory on the subject?

Thanks for your time in advance

I may be wrong, but, unless you do something to put more air, a lot more air, in the engine, you will be throwing your money away, the ECM will just shorten the pulse width of the injectors to achieve a stoich mixture, so, in reality you are still using the same amount of fuel, if you add a turbo or supercharger, yeh, you need bigger injectors, otherwise, you are just pee-peein in the wind

If the same injectors are sufficient for the 1190RS, I'd guess it's more than enough for a relatively stock 1125. I looked at the fuel tables on my race ecm, the highest it got calling for fuel (from 0-255) was only 224 using a single set of injectors. That was around 9000 rpm, so the duty cycle for the stock injectors is good enough for at least 145+ hp at the wheel. If you really want a lot more, get the shower head injector setup with the RR airbox. You'll end up paying through the nose for it though, and that's if you can even get it.

A DSB spec motor should make around 140+ hp unless it gets the cams timed and decked heads. That _might_ get 145-150 hp at the wheel, depending on several other variables. If you need more power than that, you're riding the wrong bike.

Put a turbo or nitrus in the mix...THEN worry about larger injectors...!

Sorry but...You need to learn "how things work"..!

As uly notes...more air...then...more fuel...

Power is NOT made by the amount of fuel you can put into a cylinder...it's by the amount of...air...you can cram into a cylinder..then light that off!

you only need larger injectors if they are at or past their duty cycle

stock injectors have extra capacity, so unless you and a lot of power adders (like nitrous), you should be fine

more fuel won't equal more power

This is a classic example of "More's Law". A little is good "More" is be better.

As all above have noted, it doesn't quiet work that way.

BTW running race gas in a stock motor doesn't really make more power either. [smirk]
