Ive had my 03 xb9r for almost a year now and I decided I'm not going to sell it. It's barely been ridden, beautiful, rare and I plan to keep it until the end of time. I don't want to put to many kms on it but until a pick up another commuter bike next year I'm going to be putting alot of kms on it this upcoming season.

Are there any old parts that have been known to go wrong for this 1st gen xb9r. I heard about the kick stand, I got to look into that (makes me feel real uneasy when I'm parking), and I just got my headlight replaced by HD.

Thanks Guys

'04+ belt setup
'04+ mirrors if your running them (1" wider so you can actually see behind you)

Breather reroute, then just the smaller performance upgrades.

Not a mod, but just for comfort of mind, I always put a board under my sidestand when it's parked inside. The most upright the bike sits, the less weight is on the sidestand, and the less stress it has to deal with. I replaced my low sidestand with the normal height and I'm not sure what year it came from, so I'll probably be always slightly paranoid about it.

I have a 2003, and other than the upgraded belt there's not too much I can think of.

Yea thanks I did the breather reroute pretty early on, I'm looking at the belt and it seems fine, when your say belt setup does that mean changing the pulleys also or just getting a 04+ belt?

No I was going to ask about that, has anyone done that oil pump gear? I think it's made for 06 or 08+ Buells. I was wondering if it's just easier to source out a new Buell oil pump and pop it in mine if possibly. I'm not sure which option would be easier.

Make sure you're kickstand is upgraded so it doesn't just fall over one day for no reason. ASB sells the kit if your's doesn't already have it. You could call an HD dealership, cross-referencing your VIN to check for sure: Kickstand Upgrade Kit

The '04 upgrade step-by-step including all parts needed is here: DIY '03 Belt Upgrade

The oil pump gear - I'd cross that bridge once I got there if it was me.

personally I would be more worried about making sure that my engine was get as much oil circulating as possible over the belt issue. I would fix the belt when it breaks. Just my 2 cents.
