I'm looking at a bike that I will need to change the air box cover on. I need a trans blue one but the only ones I can seem to find are the ones with the X protector on it.Can anyone tell me of a place I could find a better selection? Does anyone still make em or are the ones I am seeing on here and other parts stores just left over stock? Thanks

If I were you I'd email around to a few places and see if they can order you one. If you live close to a Harley dealer pop in there and see if they can order it.

The hero blue, cherry bomb, and kick ash all come with the x on it. You could ask Harley to ask to keep the x off, I have no clue what they will say. From Harley those three are $250. Your dealer may give Buell owners 15 % off. I looked at ordering the hero blue a few weeks ago and they said the could and it would be a 2 week lead time. All that means is it isn't coming any sooner than 2 weeks.

I've only seen them for sale on ^buellparts^^ and Harley.

Hero Blue air box cover without decals and without X guard Part# M2224.4A8AMBX ring your local dealer and put an order in.

If you would like a copy of the Buell Parts Catalog send me a PM with your email address.

Thanks guys, It seems like I also saw an 09 cg model without the X. I'm telling you though, being new to Buells and then having them make the same bike in a million different models, colors and sizes makes thing a bit confusing.

None of the 12s had the x on it(at least in the us), all the 9s from 2005 on had it. keep an eye out on ebay and the forums, buellster too. whats wrong with your current cover? i might be interested in it for a project.

Good point, I should have said that this is for an 07 xb12s. Nothing is wrong with it. I am looking at buying the bike and would just like to add the hero blue intake cover and windscreen. The bike is the 07 lightning for sale on here in Indianapolis. It has the blue wheels but came with a black intake cover with red graphics and red windscreen(now painted blue).
