So for the most part im all done with the insurance company (just have medical left) and want to share my story with you guys.

So Progressive is the insurance company of the women who hit me and who i had to deal with. So i get a call today from the guy who looked my bike over. Total loss, surprise surprised... He told me NADA value was $5100 and that the stock can IS a "performance pipe" so my D&D meant nothing and i wouldnt get my $5999 I looked up.

Bullshit. He also called other HD dealerships to see what they would take for a trade in and what the aftermarket parts would bring, of course being HD they said NADA trade in value and nothing for aftermarket.

Heres where the story gets better. There are not buells around here so he looked up ones in Cal, FL, MI, and avg them out which raised my bike up to $5700. Still not good enough. So i bitch about it with him and read him all the mods ive done to it:
D&D exhaust
Race filter
Race ECM
DIY Open air box
Alarm
Frame sticker
Right Side Scoop
DIY Engine Underglow
Helmet lock
Frame pucks and frame sliders
Traction Grips
ASV Unbreakable Levers
Breather re-route
Progrip tank protector
DIY license plate bracket remount
New front LED turn signals
DIY rear intergraded turn signals
Carbon Fiber Heel guards
Hidden Brembo rear brake mod
XBs tail

Though he admitted he did not know half that stuff was on there but he couldnt raise the price much. Then i told him lets make a deal cause he wasnt a dick and we were both working to be happy here, and this is what i told him. I will settle for that price if he allows me to go to my bike and get EVERY AFTERMARKET part off of it first.

HE AGREED! I was concerned about my tail and he said i could take that even if i cant find my old tail. PLUS he said he will "give me" an extra 300$ for "shipping" another bike here.

So i get to get all my after market parts (look for them to be sold soon at a nice discount) and i ended up getting $6100 for the bike. Alot more reasonable and no lawyers involved. Also to sum it up he came over to look at my gear and gave me 974$ for my gear i was wearing :).

Not to bad if i say so myself. Good guy and im glad he was working with me. Now its time to find me a CR to ride (can someone tell me the difference between the CR and 1125R, i know the gear ratios are different but how do they feel compared?) and time to go get my parts to sell to you guys. Also have some new parts to sell btw.

Good deal. Glad to see an insurance company doing right by people. The feel of the clubmans on the CR puts your hands a little wider, which can sometimes be a strain on the wrists. Although I haven't ridden the R, the bars on those seem to be positioned like most other sport bikes.

the CR bars are higher (clubmans) and wider as Victormonopoly said, which puts your seating position slightly more upright. other than that you have the gearing ratios, and a lack of a front fairing which can bug people at times due to a lack of wind protection. I didnt notice much of a difference riding my buddy's CR except for higher speeds.

the bars on my R are not clip-ons, so adjustability isnt the greatest unless you get clip-ons and a new upper tripple tree. both bikes are fairly similar, either will put a smile on your face.

as far as the ride goes, the CR feels as though it has more torque due to the different gear ratio. it is also a bit lighter on the front end, so wheelies are probably a little easier to attain...not that it is difficult on an R.

Glad to hear you came out on top of that crappy situation. Also glad to hear you want a CR. I love mine. So much fun. Good luck in your search for one.

Good so it will be a CR. But i need more opinions guys, i have also found 2008 or newer xb12r's that have baby miles on them for cheap! I dont know what to do! I think i will have to ride a CR first to see which i want to stick with. But the closet one for sell is 5 hours away!

Is there anyone around the Kansas City, MO area with a CR or even a R that would let me ride it? I need to see what bike i want! This is killing me :(

Also thanks alot for the responses so far. :)

EDIT: I also asked about the buy back and it was a ridiculous 30% so it was $1800

I still have my XB12S, and the poor girl just hangs out in the garage. My CR is the one ridden everywhere, hands down. I feel like the 1125 is a big boy bike compared to the XB.

Crazy, man! Glad it's working out for ya. I don't know anyone here in Kc with a CR, and my buddy with an R just sold it. Good luck bud!

They are nice when they know you have them by the balls. I bought my bike back for 1G and they paid the sales tax on my new bike.

Yeah they will pay the sell tax for mine too. But im going to make a thread asking everyones opinion on buying it back. Idk what to do.

I just went through this with a progressive insurance claim on my bike, the claims adjuster's first bike was a Buell. Needless to say, I got hooked the fuck up!

I'm kinda of curious on how the whole you can take all your parts off thing works out...Loki I was told that same thing  by a adjuster but then was told later when they went to cut the check they then removed some of the overall value
Well considering i already have my checks in hand and till friday to get my parts, that the insurance company will never see my bike again.
