Rev limiter

You don't need encouragement. You need to LISTEN to the people you ASKED.
Yeah man for sure that’s why I’m here. I apologize for sounding like an idiot but I’ve only been in school a couple weeks. I get why everyone saying I shouldn’t but no one’s said it’s impossible. I’m going to hit up Garrett who posted the link earlier and do more research

If you’re dead set on raising the rev limiter, go for it.

While you’re in the ecm, do your bike a favor and remap it. If you don’t know how to do that, you shouldn’t be messing around with the rev limiter.

You can also get free maps from Revmo Dave if you’re a customer of his, or you can send in your ecm to Tim at IDS and he can remap it for you.
I’m definitely dead set and I’m in no rush. Like we discussed a couple weeks ago on my very first post I was given a wrecked 1125R and the challenge to take what I learn in school and build a bad ass buell. So I just wish everyone would understand I’m new I’m learning and I’m posting shit in the realm getting insight and seeing what’s possible. But at the end of the day I wanna build bad ass buell and I’ve seen many across the web.

We’re all about you building a bad ass Buell. We’re trying to stop you from making a dumb ass mistake.

You’ve been in school for a few weeks. I’ve been doing Buells for over 10 years and some of the others have been doing the Buell thing a lot longer and know a lot more.

I’ve already told you how to raise your rev limiter (aka blow up your engine).

If you’re so sure you know what you’re doing and we don’t, why are you here?

I’m curious to know more about this “big bore kit” you bought. I’m sure Hammer, Zippers or S&S probably didn’t tell you to raise the rev limiter, so I’m going to assume you picked up some Wiseco pistons off Amazon.

BTW something came to my mind right now. You want to learn about high RPM in engines that doesn't rev that high, seek information about nascar engines.
The kind of trick you want to pull is the same insanity they do with LS V8s. Learn about how long it lasts, what need to be moded, what kind of metals you need to use, how and where to cnc parts with the right alloy...

Since we can't convince you that it's impossible, or at least irrational and you want to learn, start from there.

It was more of a "add 2 stroke oil to your gas". I'm on the fence about it overall, but I have a bottle of Redline 2 smoke oil that finds its way into my XB, 2 capfulls at a time. Its either working wonders or fouling my plugs. If it dies, it dies.

I chose the hammer performance 90ci big bore kit,( I looked at the twin cycles1450 but it’s European; I have no experience with them so I decided against it) but you are correct WiseCo 2v Domed 12:1 race only piston kit and redshift 645V2 cams, redshift stated I’ll need a 1991-1999 pinion drive gear to go with the cams. Are there better piston choices? Without going for custom built piston’s ? which I know people do it but expensive for sure.
