Dave xb12r-"Be careful and dress for the crash"

BuddahBuell-"ride safe and keep the rubber side down"

Thanks guys! "I've heard the "dress for the crash and not for the weather", and the "keep er rubber side down" ones before, and love them, and ride by them. I'm looking for any slogans like this that you guys live/ride by that might be helpful to newer riders, and all of us...

my favorites are
K.I.S.S-- "Keep it slow stoopid"
L.U.S.U.--"look up stay up"
both of these I've had printed up on stickers and put on my speedometers!

but my absolute favorite, and the one that has kept me alive is

"9 out of 10 drivers(cagers) don't see you.
The one that does is trying to kill you"
super defensive!!! and has kept me alive multiple times!

Here are a couple off the top of my head and heard before, might be catchy.

We might not like to admit it but "Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle", in otherwords dont get a big head and ride within your limits.

"Gear can be replaced, lives cant!"

"Remember laws are their for a reason, and it isnt for them to be broken."

"What do you call a motorcyclist who doesn't wear a helmet? An organ donor"

"Well-trained reflexes are quicker than luck", use muscle memory, again dont ride outside your limits

my cousin told me this one after i dumped my bike. 'there's two kinds of riders those who've gone down and those who are gunma go down'

I'v always like this one and deals with any extreme sport and wearing gear. I can count the times gear has save me on all my fingers and toes with motorcycles and quad motocross; "I'd rather walk away in disgust, than not walk away at all."

One that was used around the shop i first worked-raced out of for people that that crashed often was (Need to get that short fixed between the seat and the handlebars).

not hatting on you. Just every time I hear that saying first thing that pops up is how much the dramatize that statement in that movie. That saying is not always true. I know people who rode there whole life and never went down once (I am not one of them).

it was right after i almost totaled my bike so my cousin felt it was appropriate considering the crazy talk i was saying (selling my bike) haha

As Firebolt said, there are people who will never crash (I'm also not one) but a saying that has kept me vigilant was the first thing the instructor said at my basic riding course. "You're gonna crash and it's gonna hurt."

dang no one has said "no cop, no stop"

BECAUSE THIS IS ABOUT SAFE RIDING AND PRACTICING SAFE RIDING ALL THE TIME! Just because there isn't a cop around doesn't mean you can't get killed because someone at the other side of the intersection decided to do the same thing and t-bone you. Think!!

I used to have an ego about me knowing better than the bike and other drivers, now I will not get on my bike without thinking what can happen once I am on the road.
