So I ordered a right side air scoop from www.lshd1.com for my 04 xb12r. It took about a week but I got it on Friday. Install was simple but they only sent me one of the 3 bolts that I ordered with it. A little frustrating but nothing a trip to Lowes couldn't fix. Installed in less then ten minutes and looks great. Great thing is that it came just in time for a ride I was taking the very next morning up to Prescott and Jerome from Phoenix. All I can say is wow! I think my fan came on maybe 5 times the whole 9hr trip! And that was only when I shut off the bike. My buddy that I went with has an 06 xb12s and his fan came on all the damn time! It was so funny cuz he didn't think my fan even worked. And actually for a little while I was starting to think the same thing. All I can say is this is a great investment for less than $50. Made a huge difference!

That is great to hear. I am borrowing a friends at the moment since they got a new bike and I too have seen a huge difference. I am going to order mine this week. :)

I've been thinking a lot about getting one, I think you just sold me. Have you wrapped your pipes or done the heat shield by any chance? I was thinking all 3 would be over kill but who knows

I have only done the scoop. I plan on getting the heat shield but will only out it on when I get the pipes ceramic coated black so that it will blend in. I'll see if I can get the part numbers. I got them from another post on here.

Awesome - parts ordered. Cooking my own mountain oysters on a daily basis was getting a little old.

I'm planning on the right side scoop and ceramic coated headers with mine too. Gets pretty hot down there after a while.
