I'm looking to get a pair of riding boots but don't know what to get. Figured I asked my fellow Buell-ers. I want something that has good support and proctection in the ankle area. Lastly, comfort.

What do y'all wear?

I wear a pair of HD 10' brown leather boots. Pretty basic. Oil resistant sole good for not slipping in gas stations. Zip side for easy on/off.

definitely something that covers your ankles. I have Joe Rocket Meteor boots had em two yrs now not need new ones hehe

I have Joe Rocket Meteor boots also. I like them, they are pretty comfortable and not too hot considering they are waterproof.

Only thing that I would change is the velcro fastener at the top. I like to be able to tighten my boots really snug and the velcro doesn't allow this.

I have Forma F1 Flow boots, they have good saftey specs and breath very well. Comfort is ok. I would stay away from the white though, mine are so hard to keep clean. There on sale right now through planet knoxx.

I have 0 complaints about my A* SMX plus boots. We do have a nickname for them though. "Squeaky Stars" I went down with them on. Didn't feel a thing.

What I like about my HD boots is that if my wife ropes into helping her pull bush stumps, I don't have to stop to change my feet.
Since I don't come close to scuffing the last 1/2" of chicken strips, these are more than enough boot for me.:D;)

Not to thread jack, but I where between a 14 and a 15 shoe, any help with big ass boots (not regular work boots) would be great.

I have found the shift shoe/boot in my size, but most other stuff stops at size 13.

The last pair of boots I had were Sidis and I loved them. They were super comfortable, the soles lasted forever considering I pretty much wore them daily as my normal shoes, and they were waterproof. The waterproof thing doesn't sound all that special if you don't ride in the rain a lot, but I hate wet feet, and being able to get stuck in an unexpected rain storm and have my feet still be nice and dry is an amazing thing. Astar makes some great looking boots to though. If I can find a good deal on some sidis I'll probably just grab another pair though. Might as well but something that I know works.

Depends on what you want your boots for.

If they are strictly for riding then you might want to look into pure riding boots like what keithstien or dave xb12r have shown. They offer maximum saftey, but are nothing you want to wear while you out at the mall or hanging out at a buddies shop for the night.

Personally I do very little complex riding, more ride somewhere hang out then scoot, so I opted for a hybrid style street/riding boot. I know you can never tell when you are going to go down or get hit, but personally I couldnt put up with wearing a full race suit each time I go out.

+1 xtremelow on the Shift Fuel boot. I have the white one and i get compliments a lot on it. Great look and it has decent protection.

I ride w/ Icon Accelerant boots. Since I don't do any technical riding and mostly ride to work or to hang out somewhere. I haven't gotten any compliments on their styling. But I'm happy w/ the way they look, and they are really comfortable.

Went to a local bike shop and ended up with a pair of Sidi B2. Got it on sale so it didn't hurt the bank too much. Lol

Don't get anything you don't think you can wear on a regular basis. I got a pair of high tech carbon fiber full out race boots cause I thought they'd be cool. I've worn them once.

Since I usually ride somewhere that I intend to get off my bike, the race boots weren't the best choice. I can barely walk in them.

I dropped my bike wearing a pair of standard-issue Army desert boots. Bike slid on my foot but no injuries, and the boots only sustained scratched eyelets and some ruffed up shoestrings. Still wear them 5 days a week.

The best gear in the world isn't going to do you any good if you're not wearing it when you go down. Pick something that suits your needs.
