could anybody post up some pics of a passenger on an xb9 or 12. preferably on an S or Scg. Im looking into getting a new bike and have wanted a lightning for about ten years but need to be able to bring my girl along for the fun. Thanks.

thanks. i actually read that post a couple days ago. i guess im looking for both riders in riding positions if that makes sense. the girlfriend looked at that and said it looked scary. haha.

My wife won't do long rides on my 12s anymore...(yay me), but she'll do the short rides. My wife is 5'8" and its hard on the knees and not much of a surface area for her to sit on and she is small.
As for me, no different on the comfort just a little pressure pushing forward from behind and i have the lift kit as well.

I have a Lightening... xtremelow and I rode on it and I hated it... going from a firebolt to a lightening not so good... My ass hung off the back of it literally definitely if he gave it a good bit of gas, and my butt would slide off the end of the bike.

hmm that almost makes me want to steer clear of the lightning. however most of the rides she will be going on will be short, i think.

Well I guess if the rides are like less than a half an hour I would be up for that but I also dont know how tiny your girl is... if she is smaller than me go for it but if she is my size then I probably wouldnt get it.... OR!! She can just get one and you can just get :)

The other option is to buy a lightning and swap to a fire bolt tail.

The girl i am dating and i road 2 up on my lightening
before the conversion a few times.
meduim trips a couple hours on the park way.I had to slide up to the tank and brakeing down hill was tourcher on my arms. But highway cruising wasn't bad.
But she liked it and i can't wait to head back down there with the bolt tail and touring pillon:)

well shes a pretty small girl so i think she will be ok. Not a big fan of the firebolt tail swap. I like the lightnings seat too much. Thanks for everyone's input.

rt performance - how big of a hassle was it to change the tail out. love the look of your bike and was thinking about adding to my list. can you swap back and forth pretty easy or is it a pretty in depth conversion? thx.

My wife is 5'10" 130ish and just miserable on the back of my Ss. I have both the standard seat and the Touring seat, neither one is comfortable for her.[down]

Pretty dam easy the whole rear sub frame is attched by 4 bolts. i would say maybe 3 hours.
the wiring takes a bit to tuck it all in under the front seat but i like having a small glove box under the rear.
A fire bolt would be easier to swap tails since all the wiring is in the front except the battery.
