How much are you guys paying for this stuff. I've been wanting to give it a try. O reilly's has it for 15 bucks a quart. I just can't make myself pay that much.

I'd really like to try Redline but I can never find it anywhere and there are no cycle gears near me.

Check the web for Redline oil dealers, their in the US and Europe. As for RP at Cycle Gear, wasn't looking for it there, so don't know. Good luck.

Is there a big difference between max cycle and non max cycle? I just checked and my bottle does not say max cycle.

Max Cycle is motorcycle specific fully synth. oil. What you have is probably just automotive oil.

The Max cycle is supposed to have additives to help withstand the higher temps associated with motorcycle engines. Automotive oil, again supposedly, begins breaking down where the bike oil would retain it's viscocity.

Never tested them myself, but I'm not chancing it, especially with the heat our beasts put out.

lol when testing both SAE oil or so called motorcycle oil...they cant find any difference ...and sae oils test better.....you guys always talk about heat.....whats the oil temp they run at does any one know...anyone run a oil temp gage

Thanks, repped. I'm not chancing it either. A new engine is not cheap.

I ran Mobile One Full Syn., and not the V-Twin stuff for a full season in my old bike and never had any problems.

Only reason I changed was because I needed to do an oil change and want to try something new. Never really could tell a difference in the oils.

I now run Screaming Eagle Full Syn. in my bike but that is only because I got 4 quarts for FREE from buellxb when I went to IN. Oh put it in the primary too whoot whoot.

Next I am going to start running a mixture of 93octane with E-85 to see how that works out. I know the higher octane will burn hotter so I am hoping the Full Syn. will help maintain a lower heat level but still allow for a cheaper gas with a little added power. Not expecting any big gains just want to see what it does. If I dont notice anything after a couple tanks I will just switch back to straight 93octane.

xtremelow I don't know if I would do that fuel mixture man. I think ethanol is really bad on the internals. I know it gives far less mpg than standard pump gas. I like to run a little avgas from time to time. It runs very clean and its usually not expensive. I have found 100LL at certain airports for $3.00 gal. Oh and it smells amazing!
