RPM drop

While sitting at a light the RPMs drop from 1100 to 800 and the check engine light comes on. this happens once in a while. Any ideas on what the issue may be?

Maybe the fuel pump

I just had this problem because I didnt reset the tps after a k&n air filter. reset that bad boy and see if anything happens.. keep in mind my engine light never came on.

Another thing. Have you checked your plugs to make sure they are firing? Just start the bike and make sure that both exhaust pipes are heating up the same. WARNING...DO NOT TOUCH THE PIPES...THEY WILL BE HOT

I checked the error code (1...5)air intake sensor.It's a $12 part so I'll try that next.

Still have the issue. Sometimes I miss carbs and kickers!

Try re-setting idle speed when it's fully warmed-up.
Although, for me that's a hang @ 2k rpm, when I set it @ 1.1k rpm at first (engine not up to temp).

XB ownership 'bonus', learning some & tuning some with its fuel injection. XB ownership 'drag', irregular engine performance.
Eager to ride a moto with fuel maps that switch from the handlebar.

Did you replace the air intake sensor? In ecmspy reset your AFV to 100. I agree on resetting the TPS. Do that one more time after resetting your AFV. Make sure you let it warm up to 160C if at all possible before you set your idle speed.
