When my mom was in her early teens, she was on the back of a guys bike and they were hit by a truck. Pretty much destroyed her right leg. Long story.

Fast foward MANY years, I told no one when I bought my first bike in 86 (I'm now 60). When I finally told my mom...she just said..."be carefull" and asked for a ride.
I said "no"...for two reasons. 1. I hadn't had enough experience on my own yet and 2. I decided early on, if (when) I go down...I'm not taking anyone with me..!

Now...fast foward about 10 years later, I gave my mom her ride on the back of my bike.
She died about a week earlier. We had her cremated.
I picked up the ashes and secured them to the back of the seat.
Funny thing..getting into some traffic, I started to do some lane splitting.

Unconsciously, I said to myself/"her", "pull your legs in"..!

I always wondered if she heard me..

Wow mike...I understand the feeling, when you thought to yourself about pulling her legs in. I went on a ride by myself over stevens pass to leavenworth. The whole time I rode like ny dad was with me. When I leave for oklahoma I know He'll be with ne also.
