Well, I am writing this post as I sit in the hospital. I was coming home Wednesday night when I hit some gravel on a corner and low sided my baby. I was not wearing a jacket though. I wear all my gear but this day it was "too hot" so I figured a long sleeved tee over my short sleeves would be ok for the short easy trip home.....

Can't post the pics for some reason. I will when I get to a computer. But I was able to pick my bike up and ride to my girls house. Her roommate put it in the garage then she took me to the emergency room. Ended getting transferred to greenville for the trauma docs/plastic surgeons here. I got lucky with no broken bones but my left elbow is gone down to the bone. So I have exposed bone and tendons, some fake skin stuff and a wound vacuum on. I can't wait to get out of here and check on the bike. My buddy says all im gonna need is a new shift lever and some bars probably. Guess its time to order the crossroads

Oh shit! Knee and elbow look terrible!! But looks like you shouldn't be in the hospital very long. Speedy recovery!

hope your OK man ------- bikes can be fixed --- elbows... will heal... glad your walking --- wear your gear!

Wow, I hope you get better. I guess there is a lesson for all of us in that the gear is a necessity. There are times that I wanted to just jump on and go but you just never know. I wiped on my mountain bike on bare pavement and I had road rash that hurt for over a week. It doesn't take much.

Wow ! Shouldn't of looked at this while eating a cherry turnover . Glad your not hurt worse than you are , have a speedy recovery! [up]

Wow. Glad ur ok for the most part. guess I will be ordering a set of elbow guards to gO with the vest I'm looking at getting

Rep-point for waking us all up!

They are great fun bikes. But let us be reminded that they are not toy bikes.

Thanks for the warning. It will make me think twice next time the temperature hits the 30´C.

Hope you recover quick, and did not get afraid, just wiser.

You my freind are tougher than woodpecker lips! Thank heavens you are OK. Hope your recovery is speedy and the Buell is repairable.

I hate reading news like this! I'm glad you are in the healing process! Get better soon!

And my friends call me crazy when I put on the ninja turtle outfit when I ride no matter what temp or how far I am riding.

Glad ur still alive and heal up fast!

Thanks everyone. I didn't get scared of it. Its not the bikes fault. I guess I just got complacent. I will definately be picking up a hot weather jacket when I get my new lid and fix the bike. Im gonna be in the hospital for a while. They have to grow some base stuff under the bandaging before they can even think about skin grafts. Its a painful lesson but a valuable one too. Thanks again for the support guys and thanks Sirius for getting the pics up

Glad to see you are alive and able to keep us posted. Hope your able to get your baby all back together. Let us know if you need any parts when you find out. Get yourself all taken care of first.
