Are the San Diego Buell dealers pro Buell? I went into each of the San Diego stores riding my Kawasaki ZRX1200R (for sale to pay for my future XB12R)and no one talked to me while I was looking at the Buells. I know the dealers dont like the Buells but will they work on it for me? I have almost 50,000 miles on the ZRX and has NEVER broke down but I still want a Buell. Any insight on the San Diego Buell dealers would be welcome.

I think we have a great dealership.

Just let me know when you want to visit (Ketner store) and I will meet you there or you can go there and ask for Jesse and let him know I gave you his name as the point of contact. Also let me know and I will call ahead for you...

Good luck,

John

I just spoke with Jesse and he knows that you have a trade-in.

I just got back from the Kettner store and they have a black 12R on the floor waiting for you!!!

Have fun...

I met Jessie (I think) at the Kettner store and I checked out the other store off the 163 last Friday and they also had a Black XB12R there. Well I have for the most part made the decision that I want the XB for sure. I have read every article, road test and scoured all the forms and I am certain the XB is it. But....can I take one for a spin first to be sure? I have a current MC licence and I am also a MSF ridercoach. Years ago I rode a M2 Cyclone and loved it (I had a SV650 at the time) out of the Visalia store who no longer carries Buell. My Kawie ZRX1200R is great at everything and FAST but (yawn) does not do it for me. I miss my Triumph Thruxton 900 but I think the XB is the right bike for me after looking at everything (and I mean EVERYTHING)else. It's also good to know that the San Diego H-D/Buell guys read the forums also! Being a Navy Chief I'll be out to sea all week so I'll drop by the Kettner store next Friday.

Also forgot. That XBRR in that office is BAD ASS! I already have a friend riding down from Fresno (Buell pilgramage?) to see it and ride Palomar with me.

(xbrr) lol...yea, Jesse would sale it to me if I would make an offer!!

Let me know when you are riding...

Don't be a stranger and announce when you plan to head out to Palomar and I might be able to join ya as well as PointDoc and BrettXB12r from Buelletinboard.com.

Also I got my Buell from Biggs HD. I got a great price on a 2006 left over, but everything else about the shop I am less than thrilled with.

Augh! Work. I'll make it into San Diego Buell soon. I had Sunday off and I went up to the Buell store in San Marcos (Open Sunday) to try to score a spin on a XB but it's by appt only which I understand. I'm sold on a XB12R but I want to ride one to confirm it and I cant think of anything else near the price range I would want. I found a KTM Super Duke 990 for just over $11,995 (2008 model) but they stopped importing them to the US and KTM quits making parts after 5 years. No thanks. The Buell motor was made when the earth cooled so parts are plenty and H-D is not going anywhere any time soon. I love my ZRX but it feels like a pig (very fast pig) after sitting on a XB. I cant think of any reasons not to sell my Kawi and get a XB can you? It is nice not having a bike payment (paid it off years ago) but I also want a bike I lust over, not just use as a tool.

I went into Biggs (Did not know it was Biggs till I was leaving and saw the sign). Nice store, and the guy I spoke with (Chris) rides a Uly. Still want to get in to take one for a spin. They (Biggs) have a XB12R on the floor and I'm pretty sure it has been ridden because of the pad smears on the front rotor and I wont buy a demo bike because I bet the riders rev the piss out of it. I break my bikes in IAW the manual. I'll get around to selling the the ZRX sonner or later, still like that bike but not love it.

First off, they test them first.

Second, I bought mine with 50 miles on it and I haven't had a problem. These motors aren't sissy pansy 4 cylinders. It takes A LOT to damage one. Don't worry about pad smears. It's no big deal

The dealers test them? Why? What do they test them for? I thought the motors were tested at the factory. These motors can run WFO with no miles on them? Cool. It drove me nuts keeping my 1200 cc 4 cylinder under 5000 rpm for 1000 miles but at 40,000 miles now it was worth it......I think. I was not worried about the pad smears it just let me know the bike was ridden and no longer a "new" bike though they were still asking full price.
