Sato Racing Frame Slider

Wondering if anyone has used the Sato frame slider on an XB12R. The design looks like it would bolt on, but doesn't look very strong. Please help before I spend $100 bones.

I checked out the web site. I noticed there is no air scoop on the left side of the bike. I wonder if you have to remove it to use these sliders? I will call and ask, because these sliders seem to be pretty darn easy to install.
