I am looking at a scorpion EXO-1000. Sounds like it has a lot of features that are cool. Anybody have a scorpion? Any gripes/praises? I like the idea of the internal flip down tinted shield. Any other helmets have this feature? Thanks guys. -Jay

I have an EXO-700 and my fiance has an EXO-400 we both like them. I crashed in mine last year and just scuffed a bit.

BUT I have heard a couple guys with the 1000's say they didn't care for the fitment, but everyone has a different grape so it could fit you just fine. Helmets are a must wear before you buy item if you want comfort an maximum safety.

love the scorpion helmets except the 1000.noisy,heavy ventalation isnt great.the 750 has the same features and better graphics lower price and is a better helmet imo.the 500 comes out in march also has all the features weighs less better ventalation better graphics imo.nolan helmets have the inner sun visor.700 is a great helmet also dosnt have the newer features and is desighned for full tuck.i have owned all but the 500 wich im going to get in march.

I like my 700. I got it on closeout for just over $100. Noisy, but good ventilation. I hear the 1000s are heavy so take that for what it's worth.

well i cant compare to other helmets , but i do know my Scorpion EXO 1000 helmet is pretty quite not to much wind noise for me, just mostly the beautifull music of the buell exhaust notes , very comfortable with the aero fit (inflatable cheek pads) makes it feel like it is made just for me custom fit, not to heavy, keeps my head cool with vents open and warm when vents are closed, gotta love the sunvisor on bright sunny days or riding into the sun. wow I sound like some scorpion rep. wish i was then maybe i could get some cool free gear!!!
but seriuosly i like it !

alot more reviews online too.

ok for the only gripe about it that i can think of is I wish the internal drop down sunvisor was polarized . But they are replacable with other colors , so maybe Scorpion will come out with polarized one soon !

I know its not what you were asking aboot but I rock the HJC IS-16 and it has features that are what you are looking for.

After almost 10k I have no complaints, its light @ 3# 6oz, not too noisey for being a budget lid, great ventilation and once you peel the HJC sticker off its stealthy, lol

you need to definetly try it and alot of others on before buying if possible or at least make sure they have good return policy for you.
I looked at shoei and arai and scorpion and few others,
I liked the shoi i looked at(but cant rember the model price was about the same like the arai but more than i had to spend then.
the EXO 700 was my other choice it was lighter ,but it lacked the sunvisor, (i needed something here, then and now on sunny days riding into the sun).i figured i would try the exo1000 and if it was too heavy or something i was going to sell it and get the EXO 700 or the shoei.

here is a good helmet video to help about how it should fit and safety and more. more here in middle of page.

I had one for awhile. I really liked the anti-fog shield. The helmet was noisey in comparison to my other helmets. Traded it off and went back to Shoei (have at leat 4 of them on the shelf).

I'm sold on my Scorpion! I have had an AGV, 2 Shoei and a Icon but I like the Scorpion the best. I just bought a new EXO 900 today!

I was gonna get the 1000 but I went with the HJC IS_16 and I love it. I got the "scratch" graphics. I have always had HJC for MX and they never failed me. I also only paid $120, hell of alot cheaper than the Scorpion.

I've got one and have a friend that wears one as well. All the features are very nice but construction/materials seem marginal and don't knock your socks off. Snaps on my check pads broke taking my helmet off one day and my buddy's liner always pushes out in the back while he's wearing it. If you look around you can find them pretty cheap. I know for a while Cycle Gear was selling them for $99, almost bought a second at that price but I'm not entirely sold on it. My next helmet will be a different brand

I had both the 1000 and 700, I liked the inside flip down visor on the 1000 and the chin covering, but the 700 doens't have the flip down and the chin cover is purchased seperately. Basically if you wear the 700 in the cold without the chin piece or something covering you chin/neck you will freeze
