Anybody ever try this? i've heard/read u just hook the two wire/prongs into the connecter of the TPS and get a voltage reading... from there u can set it!? just got my race kit for the bike and have a poker run saturday afternoon... be *****'s if i could get that sucker in...

The jumper works for checking codes only. I'm pretty sure the 08s and 09s can be set manually. Just go do a trade in at the dealership!

lol only if ur buying my friend... thanks idk i might give it a whirl tonight... aching to get more power out of that monster. i've been told u'll get a reading of .5 - 1.5 Volts is what u should have for "zeroing your TPS"... u adjust it by loosening one bolt and turning it to get the correct reading...

Your idle speed adjustment is involved. I think the easiest and safest way would be to find a friend that has a ECMspy cable and reset it in that program. Either that or order the cable yourself. The program is free!

Not that it can't be done, but I've never heard of setting TPS manually.......interesting.

Edit: If it was me, unless I got true confirmation, I'd order a cable and leave the race kit off for later to do it right. It would just suck to get out on the run and have it running like crap. Just my $.02 ;)

ya decided to wait it out. got a hold of a buell repair manual and read about "adjusting" the tps... definitly sounds like it requires some sort of software/electronics. downloaded ECMspy tonight... and it's not in the langauge i speak... how do i change it?

u the man. thanks. gots a quick question for ya stevenc150... look'n at some new bulbs... went to local advance auto parts they got a set of sylvania h7 silverstar bulbs for like 40 bucks... will these last long in my 03 xb9s? been reading on here to get "heavy duty" bulbs... does this qualify as one!?

You may get lucky, but amazon.com has some pretty bad reviews on those lights burning out quickly and being in a bike will only add to the problems.

You may want to look at some cheaper and more reliable bulbs off a web site that sells lights made for bikes.

Silvertar have worked very well for me. Light bright and good durabilityl Tires' blasted and lights shot, what's thT TELL YA//!!!. Lights good, get a tire with dual compoundd. rubber side down dude

light and reliable

thanks guys... the auto store says they're a direct replacement of the stock ones when look'n up my bike on their comp. think i'll try em out.

The auto store must be referring to bulb type when they say "direct replacement". How would an auto store know whats in my bike when the dealership doesn't even know.

Idk... they looked up 2003 Buell XB9S then hit headlight/bulbs and Sylvania H7 Silverstar's are a "replacement" for my bike... ha idk plan on try'n them out tomorrow morning if i'm not tooooo hung over!!!:(
