Wow. I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up my own suspension. All of the directions were in the owner's manual and the tools in the included toolkit was perfect for the adjustments. My bike is about 1 week old and I just checked/adjust the suspension. It seemed it was setup for an about 160lb rider and I am 135 lbs. SUPRISINGLY it made a big difference. It took the edge off of the harsh bumps and rides much smoother.

If anyone is scared to do this, don't be- it was cake and took me 15 minutes for adjustments. Thank you Buell for makeing this so easy!

Damn, Ironically I was just about to put a post about this topic. When I pull up to work, I have to roll thru a speed bump and ALWAYS bottom out the front shocks at this one bump. I want to adjust it, but don't have a manual... I'm going to try and locate one for my xb12's (04)!

Funny how such a simple adjustment can change you whole integration with the bike.

happened to me also [up]

First let me say that I am NOT having a dig at you,
Congrats on taking the first step to understanding your bikes handling
However it constantly amazes me the number of bike owners who do nothing with their suspension.
Whether out of ignorance or laziness I dont know but what do they think all those clickers and preload adjusters are for exactly?
Its not that much of aa black art once your do a bit of reading

The most basic of all suspension adjustments is preload - setting the "Sag" of your bike based on your weight and hardly any new owners even check this
All factories set their bikes up for the average rider when they leave the factory.
Of course your bike wont handle as it should if you weigh 130lbs or 250lbs when the average is 200lbs.
But how many riders actually adjust any thing?
Stuff all thats how many.
If you can log on and post on here then you also owe it to yourself to google "motorcycle suspension set up 101" or similar and take an hour out of your life to learn something.

It may even save your life
Or better still make you go faster
