So was coming home last night and noticed whenever I would try to shift I wasn't leaving my gear on the first try, I had to pull up twice. The first time I would pull up I the shifter it would have no resistance but it wouldn't engage. I'm going to try to adjust the clutch cable but does anyone else have any input. Definitely can't speed shift right now and it's never done this before?

I'm no expert by any means, definitely go after the cable first. Maybe check you primary chain slack and adjust accordingly, primary fluid, clutch plates steels and fibres might be on their way out. Just something to pick your brain about... that's all I got..lol

Like wicked said start at the bottom and work up! also check the clutch mechanism adjustment its all in the manual also with no load on them do the clutch cable and gear lever move freely? i just adjusted the chain, (the primary chain was as loose as a dick in a shirt sleeve! lol) mechanism and cable and it shifts much better now so i would start there personally. good luck with it!

Check that your actual shift lever(not clutch) is tightened properly and that there is no slack in the linkage. Also check the linkage at the shift shaft and make sure it's not loose.
Start there first then follow the already mentioned advice.
Check primary fluid as well.
Start simple and work from there.

Check behind your clutch derby cover and make sure the locking nut that has the spring on it is not broken. The spring can break and nut falls in the bottom of primary thus getting out of adjustment. Hope this did not happen to you but it did to me.

You guys aren't going to believe what it was! My composite your work boots was binding up the shifter huge you're area, put shoes on or regular boots, and Walla Bob's your uncle shifts like it's supposed to!

I don't know what the hell you just said but as I was smiling and nodding at you I think I understood just enough to say that I'm glad you found your issue.

Sorry about that my composite toe work boots are like steel toe, but can clear a medal detector. Huge toe, caused shifting issues.
