I just bought a 2007 Lightning 12S and need to ship it from TN to FL. Was hoping to get some input of good and bad experiences with different freight companies. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated as well.

I used JC Motors when I bought my Cr off ebay and had it shipped from Illinois to Texas. They were very easy to work with. They did not keep up with the tracking, so I couldn't keep track of where it was once it was picked up. The arrival date was set for the 11th, but the truck driver called me on the 6th and said he was 20mins from my house :) You can get a free quote estimate with no problems on there website. The truck had 2 other bikes in the bike along with mine all sitting on separate pallets especially made for bike shipping and was strapped down very snug. The driver appreciated my help maneuvering my Cr around to get it out. I was very pleased with them and will use them again.

i have used jc motors and shipped from nebraska to wash. state ,i was happy with there service, easy to track, have your plastic parts [air box ,wind screen, seat] wrapped or covered with plastic wrap, have pics taken of your bike before shipping in case there is any damage from shipping, i would use jc motors again.....

Good call on wrapping up any extra parts x1xb! I forgot to mention that JC Motors won't ship anything not attached to the bike. The gentleman I bought my Cr from wrapped up a few stock parts in a plastic bag and it to the tail along with the manual, spare key, and a few other things.
