Is it possible for a short to ground to destroy you ecm?

Apparently I didn't fix the problem with the GD cooling fan. I went through the Buell bible to follow it's diagnosing tips. AGAIN. It said I need another ecm. Just replaced it with another used one about a month ago.

I'm guessing I didn't find all the frayed wires. Is there anyway to test the ecm to whether or not it is bad?

check out ur ignition relay, it sends 12volts to the ecm/fuel pump/injectors/coils,,,a short could disrupt voltage ur ecm.

ECM grounds: neutral switch;jiffy stand switch;clutch switch; those are 3 grounds for the ECM to receive power...

heres a pic from when I had the short to ground!

Here is some ECM test i ran on my XB9 with a multi-meter...with only the black connector disconnected.

here's a better image...forgot to mention; this ECM is supposedly fried too...thats what the Trouble Codes say. Along with a melted VR plug.
