No, that is a custom job done by Firechicken here on Buellxb. It only works with the pre 07 bikes, in 07 they modified the frame making this mod impossible to perform. For more information search around the DIY mods section for firechicken's original thread.

I read through all those (I think?). I didn't see anything. I have an 07' and was looking for some useful mods. I'm going to try the breather re-route. It seems to get a lot of praise on this sight. I will post pics of my bike very soon.

Ok. 07 the cold air intake is a nogo, but re rout is golden.

So it was the older style frames that had a hole down through the left side? Did they change the frames to hold more fuel?

The open air box mod would be a better idea no matter what year it is.


The breather re-route is great. It made a very noticable difference on my bike. I also opened up the upper air box.

Right on. I've sat and just stared at my bike trying to figure out a way to make a ram air kit. I thought about one that comes straight up through the air box cover and makes a 90 degree turn towards the windshield with a quick connect swivel so you could swing it out of the way while fueling.....eh. I myself don't like the idea because I enjoy my gauges too much. But that's one of the hillbilly ideas I came up with...lol

hey Buell_Cru,try one of the carbonfiber air boxes on some of the aftermarket websites,they look good and have what could be called a louver punched into the top sied of the box,pretty much where the Buell decals are on your air box,one louver one each side.Take a look at ASB.com they have them in their induction area.If ya want more than that,go to www.halspa.com they have a racing ram air induction that is like the air snorkels that were found on the older Kawasaki zx9r,where the tubes came from the front fairing down to the air box.Good luck,and donn't give up on doing your own mod,you bought the Buell,continue to think outside the box.
