Over the past month or so I have found many of you have an amazing amount of talent. Between the custom pipes the anodizing and other modifications I was curious to know what the skills are that everyone has. So often I'm looking for people to do some custom work for me but many times I not sure who I can turn to for help. Let us know if you have the skills to airbrushing, weld, fabricate. Please post what your skills are or what custom parts or accessories you’re able to produce. Most importantly if you’re willing to perform them for others and what you charge.

well I can cut weld and fabricate given the proper tools (I no longer have access to a shop) mild steel stainless or aluminium isnt a problem.

cost= pizza alcohol and help on any given project over the weekend.
maybe trade for other motorcycle stuff especially if it's Buell related for the more complex/time consuming stuff.

In the same boat as deltaone... I used to have access to a shop, but don't anymore. Everything I do now is "home brew" kind of stuff lol... I'm limited to things I can do in a car port and a living room... Heres a link to a build log of a computer build I did (didnt finish updating it, but got close to finish)... you can see me grinding stuff by the couch...

I have an immense arsenale of people I know, that know everything (it seems), and I can do all the grease work myself.

Like everyone else I always try to spend as little as possible but get the most out of it. Now a days it seems the labor is what hits the wallet the hardest so if you can assemble and disassemble you are already ahead in the cash flow problem.

Like here on my old bike all I wanted was to move the Fuse box, relays and what not from under the front fairing to under the seat but had to rip the entire bike apart so I could bring the harness inside to rewire it, then put the bike back together.

Or this one I just wanted to wrap the header, change out the plugs, minor paint, and add a few bolt on mods.

Awesome build. I saw the pic of you griding next to the couch in the living room. Do you either: not have a wife, have the worlds most permissive wife, or keep your wife locked in a closet?

If that was me, the missus would be just out of the shot coming in with the flying elbow.

I've got a mig and a plasma cutter and a whole tool box filed with snap on tools. But my real skills are with video and graphics. What can I say? I'm a nerd :D

Hopefully im getting a new tig welder for christmas :D
I have been building fiberglass open molds for ever. I kinda know my way around a spry gun, and would rather turn a wrench than watch TV.

I also make a killer ham and cheese Omelet.......

I'm a cnc machinist (tool and die). I make all my own custom parts for my bikes.

I have the most patient woman in the world. She is the only woman that can put up with me. Thats why I'm marrying her this year!

I do airbrush work on the side and some LED accent work. Basic paint job starting at $300 for a single color 2-stage (base/clear).

to start; I have a big problem paying some "expert" to do something for me that i know can't be that hard. therefore I figure it out & do it myself. I weld, airbrush & paint, build / rebuild bikes and so on. it's my hobby:D here are some pics of my "hobby" please don't beat me up too bad about the Harleys, my xb12r is my first sport bike (used to race motocross too)

First Harley when I picked it up:

When I was finished with it:

Painted a buddy's bike after he went down (hard to see the ghost flames in this pic):

Painted the inner fairing on my bagger (installed all new speakers, 2 amps, & subwolfer too) also built stainless mufflers & modded stock header pipes (YES! it has cruise control):)

and for those of you who have not seen the stainless steel muffler that I fabricated for my bolt:

hope I didn't bore you guys/gals too much with that, got a little carried away there:D

I am an electronics engineer by training, and a computer nerd by heart and trade.

I have no formal training (other then a full ride scholarship to the School of Hard Knocks) at anything mechanical. I'm just not afraid to try something. All of the mods and repairs on my bike I have done myself. Bodywork, paint, etc. I haven't had the opportunity to try my hands at any in-depth machine work, but I'd love to. No access to the tools and equipment though.

lol BPG.. :)

I would have to offer that I'm pretty handing with anything electrical.. (as an example.. I built my own LED tail light with 88 "super-brite" LED's, 32 come on dim for running lights and all 88 go full on for brakes... it's the brightest tail I have personally seen)

I am also pretty mechanically inclined (have done a top end rebuild on my XB12r and it's still running well after 300 miles... but that's not really a good confirmation yet) and a pretty good diy'er. Gonna be trying Wiznut's Anodizing process here soon.

I am a mechanical designer, I do 3d models in cad programs like wildfire from Parametric technology company. I am a DIY'er as well like the rest on this site. I do look for help from many of you guys when I have a problem with my bike though. I am currently looking to get a new design setup at home so I can start designing custom parts for buell's. won't be making em myself for awhile but they will be engineered and designed anyway. lol.

@ Bolt - love the muffler how much would you build one for?

Me I'm good with simple circuits and lights.

loose1 those pullys, pully cover, and heel gaurds are BA (I asume they are your handy work)... How much would you consider reproducing them for?

Given some half ass tools, I can make it work. I have been turning wrenches for 25 years and I'm just now 30. I have done just about everything to a cager, but my bike skills have been limited to building custom Harleys and choppers. My xb12r is my first sport bike, but they are all pretty much the same. If you need it done, get with me and if we can figure out a way, we can get it done. I love doing this stuff.:D
