have a 1b12stt. i modded the muffler like old drummer and it made a big difference. couldnt leave it alone. bought ecm from ebr for an 08 with drummer and filter. put in kn filter. now engine lite on, has decel pop, cough at cruising speed, feels like i'm pulling a trailer with it, lost all torque. where did i go wrong. fan runs constantly too. rode about 30 miles and nothing changed. thanks for any ideas
 
Check you CEL, see which error it's saying you have.
Pull your plugs, see how they look.
 
Sounds like it's going into limp mode from overheating. So yea follow what Miami78 said. Possible cause is running lean.
 
Any news on this issue? was it resolved? I bought EBR ecm and instructions said to have tps reset and any codes cleared because codes could possibly exist from programming process.
 
i jsut installed the EBR ecu and now my bike shuts off at idling speed when its cold. Beeen doing that for about 2 weeks now. I have to ride around for 5 mins to get it to stop shutting off. And i sumtime lose power wen riding arnd 3500 rpm. Any thoughts? ideas?
 
The Data plug on your bike you can (Be careful)touch pin 1 and 2 they are numbered with a jumper wire. Please Check the information Link that Anrkizm95 has on his advice.and you will get a code to count.With key on of course but don't start the bike. Now if thats (NOT) your thing hope this will help.08+ bikes have a Key switch TPS method.Stevenc150 has several links on his area so read up on that as well.The older Buells you need a laptop and ECM Spy but thats later OK! IT'S Easier/Than some trying to use a Digital Volt Ohm Meter.It's not hard with a meter but that is not everyones thing. Look up Daves do it yourself Videos all in one thread.That I believe is on this forum.You can go on You Tube Buell DIY etc.as well.(NOW nukenwhite), Start from the top so as to make it easier for yourself.The Fan is supposed to run by Throttle YES while Riding, as well as by Temperature if you are in Traffic the fan will come on by Temperature when you move above 12-15 mph the fan will come on.This is an 2010 XB cooling upgrade so you're good on that. 1st,] did you disconnect the plug under the air box cover? The actuator for the interactive exhaust cable? EBRs Ecm doesn't need the active exhaust valve OR the cable to be hooked up to the Muffler.That is usually turned off. 2nd,] exactly how did you mod the muffler to be a drummer? was it sent to KD fabrication OR did you just hollow it out & weld it up? 3rd,Have you Re-set TPS(throttle Position Sensor) that will be the Very First thing AFTER you check the Actuator under the air box cover.After checking out these areas check back with a post so someone can help you, unless you find it and let us know how it works out. BTW- Welcome all you guys that just posted their questions to the Forum. If you can't find the TPS reset post up If you want to post a Private Question just click on the name and follow the procedure.Also up top of the page are Manuals for the older buells and some of it pertains to todays Bikes. thanks jimi. did the reset with the throttle. kept getting worse. put old ecm back in for now to ride. runs fine with stock one. contacted ebr and tech said there was a fuse for the tps. never could find one. anyone else ever hear ofb this?
 
found the problem. they sent me an ecm for a 2010 and for a jardine pipe. never would work. fan runs more while riding but doesnt run after i shut the bike off. is that normal from a race ecm? thanks for all the suggestions you guys gave me
 
Return it to stock exhaust, or keep playing with it and go with the learning curve.

Ignore the lean comment above. Don't know why people keep saying that.
