Sneak preview.. almost done.. for now?!?

So I could not wait to share my progress. She is not totally done but she is road worthy again. Just in time for a snow storm headed my way?!?!?!

I have to thank PurPony for his assistance modifying my heel guards and doing my powdercoat. Nice work my friend! I have to say again your tail turned out awesome! Similar but definitely different than mine.

Just have to clean a few things up, bolt on a few more trinkets, paint my front fender borrowed from a Duc, remove a few unused mount tabs, complete and install my new exhaust and I have a friend who is going to rework my seat. I think I will be good till next winter.

I have a feeling next winter I will be tearing it all the way down for a frame and wheel color change, Maybe some xb wheels.. who knows? I am thinking about black on black on black.. some shiny but mostly flat.

She needs a name now... I am thinking "Pam" hehehe. Yea.. weak name but I love Pam from "Archer"! I will figure something out!

The ducati I stole the fender off was red.. will be black soon.

The color was hard to match. I just noticed in these pics its pretty obvious. Depending on the light it looks pretty damn close. Again... eventually I thin the frame will be black.

I am not sure "finished" will ever happen. I have a feeling it will be "in progress" as long as I own it. Which will likely be a very long time.

One of my riding buddies has a beautiful X1. He's looking for a new Drummer or Hawk-like exhaust. Any recommendations I can pass along to him?

I have a Hawk on mine now and love it. I had no plans of running any other muffler but... I got my hands on a brand spanking new Buell Race Muffler. From what I have read that is the muffler to run if you can find one. They pop up from time to time and I have seen people over pay for them on ebay. You have to either make an elbo to run one with a stock header or find a "Buell Race Header" to go with it. The headers even harder to find than the muffler unfortunately. I gave up looking and found a guy who is going to fabricate one for me. I have heard good things about D&D but they are loud. Drummer did not do anything for tubers a while back but he may now. Randy is awesome and could help your friend out if he has a stock can to chop.

So you can run a Hawk on an X1? If so - beautiful. Do you have a Hawk to sell then? Otherwise, I'm going to give Randy a call. My buddy is having some major family problems right now and his bike is a bit of a bright spot for him. I'd like to hook him up with a new toy if I can. Chime-in if you have a moment.

A Hawk muffler is a modified stock muffler. You would have to send the stock muffler to Randy to be modified. My muffler is still in use and will be for a another month or so and when I remove it I believe it is already spoken for.
