Hey everyone,
Im new to the Buell world i just bought a 03 bolt. the guy i bought it from is the second owner. he said that it might have some speed parts in it. Is there any tell tale signs that it has parts on it. I believe the pipe is stock but thats as far as the digging has gone. thanks for the help.

The factory race exhaust will have dual outlets and the ECM will have 'for race use only' stamped on it. On the 'bolts, I believe the ECM is inside the front fairing.

ya what he said above. may have Buell race air filter or a K&N airfilter too.
did he give any info as to what mods have been done to the bike, or did he have no clue?

thanks all for the help. he said he thinks he it has a cam in it and the pipe does have dual outlet. i will be doing more digging this weekend so picks will come. this bike is going to be an addiction for sure but in the best way. its a blue buell with orange graphics and checker flag stickers on some areas. if they race kit is in that would be a nice start to the mods!!!

Did you buy it in IL, sounds just like one I saw on Craigslist? I think it was in Carol Stream, IL.

most likely is that it may have a buell factory race kit. preety standard option for the early buell. it consisted of a race ecm, k n n filter and race exhaust. that was the norm. i would doubt that the motor has had mroe tinkering unless it had a strip down and rebuild.

you hear a lot that people read buell factory race kit,a nd start thinking all sorts of magical inclusions. be happpy though... the race exhaust is a good piece of kit on its own.
