I live out in the country, up in the hills, large population of mice and rats, When I worked building maintenance we lectured people on eliminating food sources, its a housekeeping issue. Ive found them in Stoves, fridges, freezers usually in the insulation under the panels and covers... But where i live, they thrive on seeds from the firs and cedars, and other plants. so hard to eliminate the food sources. On areas around us, Coyotes, Bobcats and Lynx hunt them, and in our pastures we have several hawks and some eagles that swoop in and grab them in the fields, they love it when they see us mowing the fields,
but in my storage areas and shop and out buildings i use poisons and traps. find them damn critters everywhere. exhaust pipes, intakes, in parts boxs, ,,, they can fit into any hole as small as a dime. so have had a number of cases where they got in the heater ducts, air cleaners, and interiors. One of my old trucks had some Espresso Shots in a sealed container i got from a truck stop,,, bastards got in that. I can only imagine what that did to a mouse.
