My bf got hit going about 25 mph on his bike a while back. The car hit him on the right side and his bike went underneath their front fender. I want to get it fixed for him as a surprise but don't know what all I'm getting myself into. Can someone tell me if it bent the frame or did it just pull the plastic piece out? I can take more pics if these aren't enough. Help!

Hard to say with the plastic still on, there is a aluminum subframe under the rear seat plastic. If all the tabs are intact and not bent (badly) on the main frame even if the subframe is bent its replaceable.

The way the plastic bolts to the subframe I kinda doubt its just the plastic.

Heres a link to the subframe just to give you an idea of what your looking for.

Also welcome to the forums and good luck with this project, if possible theres enough of us here to point you in the right direction!

Pretty cool GF to attempt this fix as a suprise. [up]

I could see that plastic tab breaking if it hit where the tail bulges and it just being situated where the broken plastic is pushing it out. You need to take the seat off for us to know what's going on.

This has turned out to be quite a challenge! I finally got the main seat off...is there a trick to getting the passenger seat off? Here is what I found from what I was able to see

Theres a keylock on the left side toward the back in the plastic turn the key and the passenger seat will slide back a bit and can be pulled up.

Looks like the shock mounting point on the frame is busted. If that's the case, it probably needs a frame. You might be able to weld that back together IF everything else is straight, but hard to tell.
