Spark Plugs

Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

i dont know the annswer to that jake but I have d7d exaust, air filter, breather reroute and race ecm on a xb12r and dcpr9eix is the plug i use if that helps.

Changed my plugs today (pain in the arse). I used the NGK DCPR9EIX for those interested. The old plugs looked pretty good. The rear plug was about perfect and the front was a hair rich. can I remove fuel from just one cylinder with ecmspy or can I only affect both?

also whoever assembled the bike did a schite job on the wiring harness, nothing was where it should be. took me about 5 hours to re route it. Does anyone know why they routed the harness by the left intake on the 08+ instead of by the frame?

Is there a link to order the DCPR9EIX spark plugs? Or can I just go to oreilly and order them? I have been reading this thread that offer great info. I have xb12r so just to recap form this thread, the DCPR9EIX NGK sparks seems like the way to go, and do they come gapped already, I just want to confirm?

i have E3 diamond fires in my 12 with 1250 kit... i used to fowl a plug every year on startup and the bike sat all winter in the freezing cold up here, put the E3's in and havent fouled a plug in 2 years now...

they work awsome and arnt that expensive eaither....

i think the buell # for them is E3.38 but id have to look at the chart again...

Ordered them off Amazon for under $8/each and got them in two days. Installed them and did the breather reroute at the same time. BIG difference in my 04 XB12S. Runs much smoother at low speeds and sounds much more aggressive.

what are your guys thoughts on the denso IXU24. I had a guy tell me that the ngk plugs were designed for liquid cool engines. And thought the denso would be a better suit for the buell enging. I didnt know but i can get both and wanted some poeples thoughts on the two plugs.
thanks

running an 09 XB12 with the ebr race ecm and a hawk muffler. NGK tech support informed me the DCPR9EIX comes factory gapped at 0.032" and the bike won't run any different at the 0.035" spec gap. Any comments regarding the minor 0.003" in gap distance? Thanks

Level: I run a 04 XB12R. My original plugs were gapped way too high, in fact looked like they weren't ever adjusted. Bike ran fine. I gapped my new plugs to 0.035, will let ya know how they run. In my opinion the gap doesn't seem to need to be very accurate on these bikes.

Oldgit,

by original do you mean stock OEM from the factory? I checked the NGK's with a feeler. They seemed to be close to what the tech mentioned at 0.032" as 0.035" just didn't quite fit the gap.

By your experience and the tech's recommendation, I'll assume the 0.003" won't make a difference. Thanks for the reply
