Let's express how we REALLY feel about Harley. Good or bad is fine. Just keep it civilized. We're all Buell Brothers here.

[mad]sensitive subject in these here parts[mad]

(sound of shotgun cocking back)

I know for a fact that my dealer HATES the fact I dont use "genuine" Buell or Harley parts. First off, a Harley anything will never be put on my bike by me....ever. Also, I cant help it if aftermarkets are better than the original. I dont know of another sportbike dealer that HATES aftermarkets, refuses to work on anything with aftermarkets, knows dick about sportbikes, and tries to rape you with the outrageous prices. No wonder Erik didnt have a chance with that company.

Erik: "I am putting steering dampers, chain drive, full fairings stock and not using your technology on my new Barracuda 2, whadda ya think?"

Harley: "CHAIN DRIVE?!?!?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!?!?! yeah, this is where we shut you down."

I agree that harely had become much too main stream, but this may have a bright side. If Erik can start producing his own bikes, or start a partership with another company that will allow him to use his full talent, than having harley drop buell was a good thing. Yeah it sucks that we may not see new bikes for a while, but I don't think Erik will just give up after coming so far. I guess only time will tell.

You asked us to speak our mind BUT keep it civilized?! LOL
Snareman there are many anti-hd statements&feelings all over this place.
And a few threads on the subject too.
Personally hd as a company is a hallow shell ,the chrome has long flaked off.

@Bolt I meant civilized between arguements (ourselves). Cause frankly, **** HD! Same reasons as redliner172. Our friend that works at HD had a confusion in the settings on how to install the Jardine pro-tune 3 in the 1125R. One of the other mechanics just told him to hook it up and leave it since it wasn't one of their parts and he wouldn't even notice the difference anyway. Luckly, our friend called Jardine and they were really nice about helping him out on the settings issue. Our friend over there luckly rides a Lighting. Sucks that he works there, but hey it pays his bills. Plus, he's great to take on rides. Just in case some of us (Buellers) breakdown. ;)

I think it sucks that HD dropped Buell like a bad habit, but I'll always love riding a Harley.
They also need to stop making that goofy trike, really, that's not a motorcycle anymore.

but whatever, I don't have any reason to be bitter, I still ride the baddest bike on the street.

Please keep in mind its bean counters that fire up the people that have to make tough choices. If their upper management are not long range bussiness types then this is what you end up with. Its all human error and the wrong humans are at the helm of SS Harley. It is really a shame cause they have a good thing going.

personally I don't have anything against HD. It was just business, regardless if it was HD fault that Buell was ran it to the ground or not. Soon I believe we could see another bike with a different power plant wearing the BUELL badge and hopefully looking like the B2. I would spend the money to get one, I would also like to have a nice softtail as well.

I feel pretty much the same way. I feel bad for Erik, but I also understand that Harley is in a tough spot and had to make some cuts. Did they make a good decision to cut Buell, hell no, but they did and still do have more tough choices to make.

I like their products and at some point I would still like to own a HD in addition to my awesome buell.

K, people..... Mr. Buell already had a company sign on and help him up....We've seen the results......
Eric has the abilities to develop an amazing machine, we've seen that, and also know that he is a true competitor....
The machine is not dead.....
Bean counters, administrators, and supervisors will not necessarily ensure success...
Long Live Buell Motorcycles!!!!

After buying my Buell I had all intentions of buying my wife a sportster. After the crap hit the fan the only reason I step foot in a dealer is to check out what Buell's they actually have left. The only other motorcycles that I would consider buying is a Victory or Shadow at this point.
