Yes but the service he provides most people can't and wouldn't do their selves, try taking it to your local fabricator and getting something you're happy to put on your bike, it won't happen! Not to mention his service is bar none, like many of the other Buell vendors here (dean, drop, etc) I bought his heat barriers, something I could have made myself but the quality and fit was amazing, and i didn't have to learn to sew!

Got my heat barrier today and am looking forward to the next time I get to ride it. Want to see how it does.

I'm really interested to hear your review. Is the the new style one that the airbox cover bolts go through or the metallic looking one?

It's the new style one. I may ride in tomorrow and its supposed to be around 108 degrees so that should be a pretty solid test. I'll let you know how it goes.

i guess it comes down to personal preference and eye of the beholder.

i love Dean's exhausts, they are a work of art.

just like i love mine but i guess that's because i have the sense of accomplishment of doing it myself.

i painted it with brush on Rust Encapsulator. its still wet in that photo.

No doubt....Deans stuff IS art!! There's nothing wrong with trying things yourself....as long as it doesn't cause a safety issue or otherwise compromise the integrity of the bike. I wouldn't say that coating will hold up real well, but, hey...it's worth a shot I guess?! :)

So I got to ride it in to work today in ~110 degree heat and my review is that it works pretty well. Its not unbelievably different but there is definitely a noticeable difference in heat in the crotch and buttocks area. It even helps a bit in the inner thigh department. I even got stopped at a light by my house that's usually pretty brutal and it was actually bearable today. I think it's something that's definitely worth the money just want to see how it performs on longer rides.

I'm still waiting on my pipe. It was promised almost 2 weeks ago. Radio silence.

I would of loved to buy one of dean's or special ops but funds were tight so this is mine

sometimes you have to do yourself.

That sucks. I've heard in the past about the extreme lack of customer service. I hope you receive it soon.

Hmmm..... 303xb. Sorry to read about your challenges.

Did you send in a donor pipe? If not, he may be having his own challenges obtaining a donor pipe for you.

My heat shield came pretty quick. But that's probably easier for him to make versus surgery on a pipe.

Hope it works out for you.

I don't mean to be aggressive, but I'm not sure I understand why anyone still gives Odie business. He's a nice guy, but he's proven repeatedly over the last 5 years to be an absolutely unreliable resource. Unanswered e-mails and phone calls, excruciatingly long delays on product delivery, and more.

I had no idea. I am going to cancel my paypal transaction today. Luckily I didn't send him a core.

He said he had cores laying around...promised it would be out 3 weeks ago, then 2 weeks ago. Nothing since.

I've heard the exact same things theoctopus said not only here but on other buell forums as well. I was scared to go in ordering my heat shield as I had spent over a year sending emails attempting to contact him but my heat shield arrived quickly and the transaction was painless. Luckily, my experience was good (once I was able to get a hold of him) but I feel bad for people that have to wait for long times especially after sending payment and never hearing anything back.

Got an email today. Pipe shipped and will be here Wednesday. Need a race ecm 2008 xb12s. Anyone got one laying around? :)

Cool, glad to know it's on the way. Please post an update after it's been installed.
