IDK, they probably took the site down. Last guy I saw who got a new Special O.P.S. was in 2009. Even when Odie was around, he was near impossible to get a hold of. I would say your chances of getting a Special O.P.S. treatment done on your OEM muffler are 0. If a used one on eBay pops up, it would probably be your best chance.

Yikes. Ok, thanks. I'm weighing my options now. I just want a good sounding bike that runs right without spending a fortune. I was leaning towards Hawk or even Jardine, but they both take a lot of abuse on the forums. It seems like everyone says that anything less than a Drummer is a waste of money, but I just cannot bring myself to spend that kind of coin for some extra noise...

The jardine is fine to run but you just have to make sure to tune the bike and re-pack the jardine every 5k miles or so. if you don't do those things, you will find out first hand why people have bashed that brand.

The Jardine Aluminum sounds very hearty in person and it is light weight. I think Jardine has improved the quality of their packing material. Either way, I would repack at 3k with Bristol Core spec 31 HD which will last even 10K or more. Only use steal rivets when doing repacks. I did a repack on mine and made a video. You can see how well the Bristol Core held up after 6,000 miles.

I noticed a huge performance difference between my Jardine and Drummer SS. Most noticeable on the lower end acceleration where the Jardine would bog. Also, the design of the front mount on the Jardine broke on mine and it looked like the factory weld was not done well. Crash told me that the front weld breaking was something he saw quite frequently with the Jardine pipes due to poor design.

My buddy just put on a Drummer SS on his 12, I'm going to go check out what it's all about this weekend.

Dean, the thing that keeps me away from your exhaust, if I may be so bold, is that I am worried about getting a tune for it. Especially on my '09 XB 12 which is notoriously hard to tune. I'm from the school of plug and play. What is your solution for plug and play tuning?

I'd love a Drummer SS, but $650 plus $75 for the chin spoiler brackets and additional shipping... I can't spend $750 on a muffler when the Jardine is half of that, to my door... Maybe if I was a professional racer or had a much more lucrative career...

I can't really argue with that logic..... All in all, the Jardine is a good pipe. The sound it makes is no joke.

The drummer doesn't need to be repacked at intervals and doesn't need the front mount bracket rewelded from time to time... Also, what the heck do you need a chin spoiler for? Rock out with your muffler out!!!!

P.S. I had the same thought as you when I was muffler shopping originally, and it cost me $650 for the Drummer SS, $99 for a Xoptiinside map for the Drummer, the cost of my Jardine and corresponding EBR ECM in the long run...

www.xoptiinside.com and have Mike get you hooked up with the tune. It's not that hard to do. I get the plug-n-play bit and I'll be working on it this year. I bought an xb12x a few weeks ago, it will be getting the treatment. The very first thing to go was the chopped up or hacked on exhaust. I've got other things that take priority at the moment, along with it needing tires, bearings and a few other bits, so it will be a little while before I get started on it. In the meantime, Mike's tunes are pretty good. I ran it on my 03 and have installed it on a few 08+ bikes myself. I plan to wideband this 09 though and get it dialed in as close as possible.
