My speedometer reads about 5mph fast. example when it says 35 I am only going 30. Is there any way to adjust it. It has the correct size of tires.

Has your speedo ever been taken apart? I know when I pulled mine apart to change out the backing plate I had to make sure the needles got put back in exactly the same spot. Maybe someone pulled it apart and didn't get them back correctly.

Motorcycles speedometer are commonly "off" by 5-7%, even upwards of 10%. (That's also good info to know when contesting a speeding ticket). Besides a dealer, I don't know of a way to adjust. You could check it accurately with a GPS though to see.

my speedo gradually gets worse starting around 50mph upwards of 5pmh at 75mph gps says 75 speedo says 80 can try a speedo healer google it

I did have the whole unit apart to change a backlight builb right after I got it. But I did not touch the neadles or turn it over without the backplate on. How do I know what the right postition for the needles is. They seem to sweep correctly on startup. should I pull it appart and try to fix it or will I just make it worse.

My speedo just quit working. Then a couple of days later it worked again. What gives? I see that the needles do a function sweep as soon as you turn on the ignition, that's electrical obviously. But as I'm riding, where is the sensor that picks up the speed? Or is it a cable?
