sporty to buell?

Currently own an 06 sporty 1200 r. Has anyone traded a sporty for an xb? Advice? Regrets?

I rode my mom's XL1200N for a couple of months before getting my XB. I fret any day that my bike's acting up and i have to borrow hers.

I had an old ass Sporty 1200, sold it to help fund my Uly. Haven't looked back yet.

The only thing I regret is that it had a pretty cool custom paint job...

My advice would be to find out what the dealer will give you for a trade, put the bike on the open market for a bit. See what you can get for it. I sold mine for almost $1000 more then the dealer would give me.

Trade in's on sportys are pretty low.

Sell it if you can.

Thanks for the feedback. I test rode an ss. It's a great deal, just not sure I want to part with the xl and don't really have room for two scoots right now. 95 % of my riding is commuting. It's the occasional group ride three hours away and back that concerns me on the xb...

I wanted to sell my sporty to fund the XB and my Fiance said no. Yes, she just plain told me no. We had our first date on the sporty, that's why. I like riding the XB so much more that I could care less if we have the sporty. However, the boss has a bad back so she can't spend long on the XB and either rides the sporty, or she rides on the back of the sporty.

I am a new rider, I bought an 08 Nightster in April and was bored by September. I bought an 09 xb12scg instead and I love it! It is so bad ass! I would trade if I were you

No comparison as far as the lightnings, hands down the suspension is 500% smoother on my lightning. That's solo or two up riding. So is the handling,power,fun factor, and everything else! The buells blow away sportsters, i've owned 3 sportsters and the difference is like between night and day! In less a person just likes the looks of a sportster better, but to me the buell's look better and are made with better parts.
