I'll go along with what other people want to do, but I'm still hesitant to trust the forecast. It's still saying no rain, but the predicted temps have dropped 5-10 degrees, so who knows where we'll end up.

I'd be in to ride with you guys but I actually have a trackday Saturday and Sunday at Beaverun. Maybe another weekend.

P.S. I think New Castle HD is having some type of event this weekend but I'm not sure what.

I cannot make the ride this weekend, but you guys should try to take the back route TO Butler through Valencia, 3 Degree Road, Valencia Road and to Meridian Road (through Renfrew, PA). Really nice route and not too technical for early season riding.

if we went riding from around Pittsburgh to Zanoti's in Butler where would you want to meet? I could meet somewhere near route 8 as you pass through shaler/north hills area

to my earlier post: upthemaiden and 2004xb12s:

you should meet at the Pizza Shop (Roma?) located on 910 right at the top of the hill before you descend down into Valencia.

910 is probably a bit north from where you are. Not sure where the best place to meet is. Any time I leave the city I usually just head up through Millvale, and a lot of times cut down Thompson run. I could head over vilsack towards Mt. Royal, somewhere like that. To be honest I don't know Rt8/Shaler all that well because I usually stick closer to Mcknight, but if you give me a location i can find my way there. Is there somewhere that's reasonably between the city and north park? We could head up through the park, make our way to franklin road, and I remember there were some decent roads that would spit you out on rt 8 right by a golf course and that hotel with the indoor water park, Conleys I think? You might even know a better way considering you've gotta drive that route more often. When I used to go to school out there I'd always take Franklin rd to evans city, and then cut down brownsdale and somehow weave through that way. It seemed to make sense at the time, but 3 degree road does look like a good option too. It's been so long I'm sure we'd get lost regardless.

Just got off the phone with New Castle HD to ask about my handlebar clamps I ordered from them. They said that they are having an event that you can buy and sell your bike there from 9-3 on Saturday. They'll have food & drinks there too. Might be a decent event if you guys are out that way? They're very Buell friendly :D Thought I'd let you guys know...

I plan on going to zanottis and New Castle on Saturday, then riding 150 miles back to state college. Not sure on any timing or anything, and I will be with some cruisers. I live really close to zanottis and New Castle HD/Buell so I hope to see some others there

I am down for riding to either. new castle or butler doesn't make a difference to me. Wherever we can get more people to ride with is cool with me.

I'm not too picky about which I go to. I'd rather go to New Castle since it's a more Buell oriented shop, but if there are gonna be more forum members at Zanottis, it'd be cool to meet some of them as well. The rides aren't all that different coming from the city. Sunday now looks like rain but Saturday is still holding out. I'll just keep an eye on the weather throughout Friday and see what other people plan on doing before I decide.

Since people are coming from so many different areas and I doubt we'll get a serious ride from the city up north, maybe people could meet up at Zanottis, and then ride over to New Castle HD together. it's only a 25 minute ride up 422.

Slight chance my schedule has freed up a bit Saturday. :D What time are you guys thinking of heading out?

I'm thinking from Cranberry...Franklin to 528 to 422 to NCHD could be a decent (yet short) ride?

franklin/528/422 was my thought too. Zanotti's has a bit more flexibility in the route, but NCHD didn't have as many roads unless we went completely out of the way.

I'm not sure what time we were leaving. I don't have any plans that day. I would expect it to be a 2-3 hour ride at least from the city, maybe time it to get up there around noon? Possibly 11 if people would want to get up that early. You should definitely come though, blow off the Saturday plans!

Sidewinder: what area are you coming from? Would you be able to meet us for some of the ride up, or would you just meet us at one of the dealerships? I'll be leaving the city, then there will be a meet up in north hills, if Sandro comes we'll meet him in cranberry and head north, so we can meet anyone anywhere a long the way. It'd be great to have 4-5 people before we got up there.

Sounds good, I can either meet you in town somewhere, or if you want to avoid downtown we can meet north of the city somewhere, Millvale maybe if it's easier for you to just jump on 28N.

Millvale would be fine. I don't really know the roads out that way so I'll be following you :)
