140 on my ODO after our ride on Saturday. Total elapsed time was just a hair over 3 hours including a 15 minute rest stop.

...and yes, that HAWK was ringing in my head as well (and you were 4-5 bike lengths behind me most of the ride)! Sounds awesome, but for longer rides - pretty loud!

The worst part is that it'll seem too loud and rough at 3k rpm, so I up shift to lower the engine speed, and that only makes it worse at 2k rpm. I'm just gonna put the stock exhaust back on later tonight if I've got time. It's just not the same bike when it's quiet though.

simple solution:

mod-out your xb9 into a hooligan bike; loud, mean, hot and stripped down.

then get a ULY or TT and use it for long distance and adventure riding.

edit:...as to our 140 odo; at the end of the ride we got on i-70/79 at washington PA and road the interstate back into Pgh city proper, so that's about 30 miles (possibly 40) of highway riding right there.

Sounds like a great ride. Im mad i couldn't make it but I had last minute packing to do for my trip that got thrown on my plate Saturday morning.

Cruising in Columbus, Ohio on sunday and spotted a Blue & Black X1 Lightning. Dude gave me a thumbs up as me and the wife rode by lol (I've got a 00 X1).

As much as I'd love to see 2 Buells parked in my basement, my next bike is definitely gonna be a supermoto, and I already plan on trading in my xb9 for something slightly faster, whether it's an xb12s/S1, or something japanese. I might pick up a gsxr750 first and then keep an eye out for another Buell down the line.

there are some good blowout deals available on Ducati 1100 Hypermotards (leftovers).

A friend of mine owns a dealer in TX if you are interested. He just sold a leftover/new 08 Hyper at cost.

I spent a day logging 100 miles on one and they are pretty fab in many ways. Not as brutish at the Buell, but way more refined in terms of the gearbox and engine. but still a L twin, which is the cool factor.

I want something I can beat the crap out of, be able to drop it and pick it right back up without even thinking about it. Hoping to find a yamaha wr450f that's already tarded out, or at least get a good enough deal on one and spend the extra cash on the wheels/brakes/gearing. DRZ400SMs are a ton more common though so I won't be surprised if that's what I end up with. I'm pretty much looking for a bmx bike with a motor.

yeah, DRZ's can be had cheap. a friend of mine bought three at once (beaters), fixed one up for himself and resold the rest.

I went to the Indy 500 over the weekend so no riding. :(

I did ride to and from work on Tuesday. But when I got home I felt like I jumped into a pool of gasoline and lit myself on fire.

I kinda want to street my 09 YZ450F but I'm not sure I want to go through the hassle of getting it registered and plated.

Does the yzf450f come with lights on it? I found 2 or 3 wr450fs I thought I was going to buy but they all had title issues. They at least come with lights but it seems like sometimes the titles can make things complicated.

yea, cranberry, i might go if i can get my new rear tire put on tomorrow ha

let me know if you wanna go... 2004 are you from cranberry like 20 miles outside of clarion correct, or am i thinking of someone else?

I live in Cranberry. No promises but I may try to make it there for a bit if I can...

Tomorrow is Thursday already! Hadn't even thought about it. I may make it up there, it depends on what I'm doing tomorrow evening. We just got my buddies DRZsm back together last night and he was talking about riding up there. If I do I might try to do it a little earlier on so I can still hang out with my friend in the evening.

Nope. It doesn't even come with a stator for lighting so I'd have to get and install that too lol. I always wanted to make a SM style bike. My KLX300 would probably be a better choice because I use my YZ in the dirt and the KLX just sits there.
