I know that there are several military folks on here so I thought I would share this info.
My unit sent out an email about the 2013 star school schedule, that is free to military.
Some units may even pay TDY to attend. It is paid for by the National guard, but am told that
it is open all of us. This is a free class with track riding training and track time. I am signed up for the event at Blackhawk on the 26th of June. Who doesn't want so FREE track instruction and track time. Thought I would share.
here is the link.

Another rider I work with tried to register today (did mine a few weeks ago) and he was informed that he had to be National guard. I have contacted the person to find out whats the deal. Once I find out and get a direct contact about it I will post it for those interested.

Gizzed.... Fixing to try my damnedest to run this up my chain to get approved... Can it be done on weekends?... If so I can do it of my own volition... I'll just have to do that stupid "hazardous action" form beforehand I'm sure....

from what i knoe about the different rider programs they are free to alll military personel. if you can get payed tdy great. if not its on you most supply the bike. i know big army was pushing rider course to be mandatory. as for a crm being done, that would be up to your chain. if memory serves me, the rock island arsenal didnt require one. then again there was no track time and it was only on wensdays. but this sounds like a good deal. plus you will get a discount on your insurance. and posibly promotion points for e-5 and below. counts as a corrispondance course.

Thanks chief for the info.
I'm still waiting a reply about this. I sent it up the chain this morning and have
seen the email bouncing around all morning. When I registered I was told
it was open to all, But when the other rider here did it today, it would not
allow anyone not in the guard. As far as points not a big concern, just
want some track time, and any free training is great. Plus Im an E7 already.\
For the TDY it was put out that some commands may pay TDY. Mine however
wont. So I will just be taking leave for that day, then heading back home. Trying to
set up a group from down here in the St Louis area to roll up there with. Loading up my truck
and maybe my trailer.

Was just told that since this is paid for by the National Guard that who they try to get in, but was also told that the allow active duty and reserves, since a lot of the slots go unfilled. So If you wish to attend just register as NG or call them. Would love to see alot of Buells there. Cant say I see to many down at this AF Base. Its bad enough Im out of place being Army here.
