Stater check

Charging problems , road it last night everything fine rode to work today got there and batt was dead charged it up and road home and put my meter on it and it was charging agen ,,, tonight pulled the cover off to smell oil it smells like oil and not burnt wires checked the 3 pole wire coming from the stater 2 poles are the same one is lower on output but at 3000 rpm it comes up any idea please help

i would also check the #77 connector plug behind your front pulley cover. tons of posts on here showing location and quick fixes if questionable. you want to have approx. 47-52 volts AC on your stator at 2500rpm. these #'s will get you in the ballpark. you are checking with AC setting on your voltmeter, correct?

Yes and the 77 plug is good

My concern was that all 3 pins on the stater plug were not the same voltage out put
