I keep seeing a common theme. Everyone who has aftermarket stuff has stator problems.
Has anyone had their stator fry without mods?

thats a good point mines is stock w/1,200 miles i'm not going to put one that takes up juice all i want is a engine build i have a early 09 so god only knows where the magic smoke is going to come from,im out of warranty.. paid 7k new 12 miles wish i bought something else...Ilove this bike but it should have had 150 at the wheel from the start..PUT A SIGN IN THE FRONT YARD OF EBR FACTORY SAYING FIX THE STATORS I LIVE VERY CLOSE TO BUELL DR..[mad]I WONDER THE GOD OF DARKNESS MAKES THE STATORS (LUCAS)

i tried the dual headlight mod on my 03 xb9s where u switch the yellow and orange wires in the headlight harness and it allows u to run the low beam when on low and both when on hi....99.9/10 of others who have done this say there are no issues but no more than a half hour after switching the wires and having the bike off it dies...could this be a stator issue?

Madison I'd post your question in the Xb section, our stator issues are bike dies completely.

No mods mine died at 9k. It's been 4k with the EBR 08 stator setup(knock on wood)

I have no mod out side a pipe and ecm, I bought my bike new. Mine stator died at about 6000 miles. I did the rewind and rotor upgrade, I have about 10,000 miles on the bike now, with no issues. Based on the research I have done, I shouldn't have anymore issues. Only time will tell. From what I have seen, if you buy the bike you will have to upgraded the charging system.

My stator went out at 13k 2007stt, headlight white wire mod only, ( note I didn't use the mod all that much ) the harness connector that is notorious for burning up was not in the best shape, bought a used stator on ebay and have 20K on the bike now??????

one would believe the stator should make 50k at least. my fan went out at 5k, other than that.....Love my Buell!

My Stator Fried at around 3500, got a custom rewind done and the EBR rotor, at around 6500 now no problems yet except a bad fuse on my VR but so far so good

mvaughn556: I had mine done at Ricks Electrical, He does great work with great turnaround time. Id highly recommend them. http://ricksmotorsportelectrics.com here is the Site. give them a call and let them know what you need. they will help you.

Gott new v/r on order and just waiting for ebr rotor to come available,so i can pull off stator to have it rewinded. Also once i installed new regulator and wired up to stator and battery.
Do i keep the relay hook up to the other connectors?
the harnesss does have other connection other than the v/r and stator.

mvaughn556, I did my stator rewind at ricks motorsports. I also undid the wire harness upgrade. I plugged the stator directly into the VR. Also I bought a VR, thinking that it took a crap too, but it was just a battery. I have a brand new VR sitting in my garage. I bought the battery through cycle gear and it is a total POS, with an awesome warranty, so i just keep getting new ones.
