Anyone know what the screw on the steering head just below the fairing stay mount is for? I have an '03 9s and have looked through the service manual and haven't found anything about it. Was this used on newer model XB's? I may have asked this before, but I'm having a blonde moment:D

well found the answer...it's a grounding point that wasn't ever used 'til later models. was only able to find info on '07 12ss and Uly's used this as a ground point. guess no one else has an answer after this was viewed almost 40 times...so there you have it 'til someone pipes up with more info:p

My 05 firebolt has a ground screw there on the frame at the steering neck under the fairing stay.

Is it used as a ground though? It's not used on my bike and there isn't a wire in the harness for it, looked it over when I did the S to R conversion in the attempt to do the dual headlight mod.

Yes definitely is a ground. I don't recall but I think the wire just ties into the harness. Maybe they added it on a certain year...

yea, that's what I figured since changes were made on the '04 models and on. since the '03 model was the kick off of the XB line, kinda expected improvements with newer models just like the car industry. thanks for your input.
