In the past few weeks, I've done a breather re-route, K&N filter, Hawk exhaust and race map to my '04 xb12r. It's running like a top, but just after doing the race map, the rpms are sticking around 2000 when it's warm. If I ease out the clutch in gear, it will drop back down but it's pretty annoying rolling up to a light and it wants to stay at 2000 rpms. Anyone got some tips to fix this? I'm not very ECMspy savvy but I might be able to tweak something with a little guidance.

i agree with anrkizm. Odds are it wasnt warm enough when you did the reset. wait till its good and hot....like the fan kicking on. turn down that cable a smige too.

I reset the TPS just before I did the race map and I figured it might carry over. I'll reset it tomorrow and see if that takes care of it. I can't imagine the intake gasket messed up at the same time as all this.

if your idle is set a little too high it will hang like that. it doesn't take much, try backing off the idle adjust a little

^This^ first (set to 950 rpm after fully warmed up) - then if no good, do Intake leak check.

A TPS reset and dropping the idle worked like a champ. It was running great till another problem arose... I started another thread for that.

My bike did this exact thing today. Come to a stop and it would stick at 2000. Then down the road I went to get gas and my engine light pops on for the 1st time ever..I fuel up and go to start it and it just clicked...so long story short, new battery fixed everything.

txrenegade, welcome to the forum. Glad that did the trick.Tps reset is needed for a good Idle and running Engine. I couple of Drops of Inox lube for the Throttle cables and the Clutch Cables will keep it smooth with less wear.
BitchinXb- might want to check the Voltage output with a digital Voltmeter to make sure the Charging System is working properly, only takes a few minutes.
This way you know it was [Just The Battery] and not the Regulator or Stator that let the Battery get discharged over time. Ride Safe.*Jimi[smirk][up]

Im pretty sure it was the battery...it's had a weak crank since I got it, and that was a year ago.. I cant believe the stock battery lasted 6 years in the bike.
